Licenses.

Last updated 28 September 2026

Every digital good on Specksy comes with one of these licences, chosen by the seller and shown on the listing. It says what you may do with the files after you buy them.

Personal licence

Use in your own non-commercial projects.

You may

  • Using the files in projects you do not earn money from: personal games, mods, streams without monetisation, school work and portfolios.
  • Changing the files for your own use.

You may not

  • Any commercial use: selling a product that contains the files, monetised games, apps or videos, or client work.
  • Reselling, sharing or giving away the files themselves, alone or in a bundle, or uploading them to another marketplace or asset library.
  • Claiming the work as your own or registering it as a trademark.

Commercial licence

Use in personal and commercial projects, including monetised games.

You may

  • Everything the Personal licence allows.
  • Using the files in products you sell or earn money from: games, apps, videos, streams and merchandise that contains the work as part of a larger creation.
  • Using the files in work for a client, as part of the finished product.

You may not

  • Reselling, sharing or giving away the files themselves, alone or in a bundle, or uploading them to another marketplace or asset library.
  • Claiming the work as your own or registering it as a trademark.

Personal + commercial licence

Use in any personal or commercial project.

You may

  • Using the files in any personal or commercial project, including monetised games, apps, videos, streams, merchandise and client work, as part of a larger creation.
  • Changing the files for these uses.

You may not

  • Reselling, sharing or giving away the files themselves, alone or in a bundle, or uploading them to another marketplace or asset library.
  • Claiming the work as your own or registering it as a trademark.

For every licence

  • The licence is granted by the seller, who owns the rights in the work, to the buyer who paid for it. It is non-exclusive, worldwide and does not expire.
  • It covers one buyer (a person, or one company and its employees). It may not be transferred except together with a finished product made with the files.
  • Nothing is transferred other than the right to use: the seller keeps the copyright.
  • If the order is refunded, the licence ends and the files must be deleted.
